we have a point and a slope, so let's use the point slope formula!

[tex](y - y1) = m(x - x1)[/tex]
where
x1=4
y1=2
and m=3

[tex](y - 2) = 3(x - 4) \\ y - 2 = 3x - 12 \\ y = 3x - 10[/tex]
