i hope you meant "y" instead of "t" because that would make so much more sense. all you have to do with this is replace "y" in the equation with "x + 3" (this makes the equation x = 3[x + 3] - 2). now, you multiply and combine the like-terms (making x = 3x + 7). you now continue by subtracting 3x from both sides of the equation to make -2x = 7 and dividing to make x = -3.5
