First, you need to know the slope-intercept form, which is y=mx+b.

x+4y=8
-x____-x
      4y= -x+8
       /4___/4

y=-1/4x+2

The slope would be -1/4 and the y-intercept would be 2.   :D

You can also try using the table or values.
