The poliovirus protease cleaves the cellular eif-4g protein. why doesn't this affect the virus?

The Poliovirus protease cleaves with the eIF4G which stops cellular protein synthesis within 2.5 hours. But it doesn't distress viral protein synthesis, because it is known to be capsule-independent and it is also vastly structured which made it possible not to reproduce.
