In 1964, the legislative branch passed a law called the Economic Opportunity Act. As a result of this law, the Department of Labor (executive branch) created eleven new programs, including Job Corps. How has this law helped satisfy the mission of “economic opportunity”?
-Eliminate poverty -Expand educational opportunities -Increase the safety net for the poor and unemployed -Tend to health and financial needs of the elderly
These main purposes have routed government and have helped satisfy the mission of economic opportunity by : *Iincrementing programs in schools to further advance their development and expand the opportunities in classrooms
*Creating job opportunities for those with disabilities in places like Goodwill,etc...
*Broadening the existing programs for elderly in home care facilities by providing them with transportation to hospitals, medicare centers, food stamps, etc...
