1. Fill in the x-coordinate in the function
[tex]y = 2 \times 3 - 4[/tex]
[tex]y = 6 - 4[/tex]
[tex]y = 2[/tex]
We find that the y-coordinate is 2. So this point is on the graph.

2. Same work
[tex]y = \frac{1}{4} \times 4 + 15[/tex]
[tex]y = 1 + 15[/tex]
[tex]y = 16[/tex]
We find that the y-coordinate is 16. So this point isn't on the graph.
