Hi there! The answer is C. 2

[tex]2 |x -1| - 4 = - 2[/tex]
Add 4 to both sides.

[tex]2 |x - 1| = 2[/tex]
Divide by 2

[tex] |x - 1| = 1[/tex]
Now work out the absolute value, which gives that the equation is either equal to 1 or to - 1.

[tex]x - 1 = 1 \: \: or \: \: x - 1 = - 1[/tex]
[tex]x = 2 \: \: or \: \: x = 0[/tex]

Therefore, the sum of the solutions is 0 + 2 = 2.
