Number of moles of C in 0.181 mole C₆H₁₄O can be calculated as:

Number of moles of carbon in 1 mole of C₆H₁₄O=6

Number of moles of hydrogen in 1 mole of C₆H₁₄O=14

Number of moles of oxygen in 1 mole of C₆H₁₄O=1

So number of moles of carbon in 0.181 mole C₆H₁₄O=0.181×6

=1.086

So number of moles of carbon that is C in 0.181 mole C₆H₁₄O is found to be 1.086 moles.
